Nice Spider!

We spend many Sunday afternoons with our friends, Bridgette and Steve Krueskamp, and their family. They have adopted us as the Washburn family. Their dad couldn't remember our last name and kept referring to us as the Washburn's, so we kid him about it now. Anyhow, last Sunday we were invited over for grilled pork chops (they were yummy!). Bridgette and Steve have just completed their beautiful home that backs up to the Lost Dutchman State Park at the base of the Superstition Mountains (the photo is a view from their roof-top deck). Their driveway is a long, very bumpy and narrow dirt path through the desert! Needless to say, they have many creatures roaming around their property. As we were leaving that evening, they showed us the big frog that hangs out on their driveway and eats the bugs. Just after we got in our car (thank goodness), Bridgette saw a nice big tarantula crawling out from under her truck...so what does she do??? The crazy girl picks it up and lets it crawl all over her arms and hands!!!! Lynn wasted no time rolling up the car windows and locking the doors! Well, I just had to have a picture of her and spidey, so you can see for yourself what a nut she is! She will also pick up snakes (non-venomous only!) when she finds them. We really enjoy hanging out with Bridgette and Steve and always have a fun time...even without the creepy-crawlies!
