Thanksgiving weekend

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Lynn's sister, Sarah, her husband, Chris, and their kids Savannah, Talia & Caleb visited us from Utah. They also brought their gigantic dog, Diesel. We had just the right combination of relaxation and fun. This year, I brined the turkey the night before I cooked it. It was a new experience for me, I've heard of brining but never tried it. It ended up tasting so good...I will be brining from here on out! When Lynn tried to take the turkey out of the roasting pan, it just fell apart. Brining makes the meat taste a little more salty but it is very tender and juicy. I forgot to take pictures of our delicious meal (and those partaking of it!).

I did get some pictures of our Saturday excursion on Dolly Steamboat at Canyon Lake. It is a great way to spend a couple of hours and quite relaxing, especially when the weather is good. We would recommend taking a ride on old Dolly if you have the time. We also saw some Bighorn Sheep way up on the cliff next to the lake.
